About Us

Tahune AirWalk was first opened on the 1st of July 2001. It has since become one of the most visited tourism attractions in Tasmania. On the edge on 1.6 million hectares of World Heritage Listed forest, Tahune AirWalk is a highly visited destination with something for everyone.

With breathtaking views of the forest canopy, spine-tingling swinging bridges across the Huon and Picton Rivers, soaring like an eagle across the Huon River on our Eagle hang Glider and Tasmanian food and wine in the café; there’s a full day of fun for the whole family.

And if one day wasn’t enough to fit in all those adventures at Tahune AirWalk, you can stay the night in our Forest Lodge accommodation!

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful forest ramble or are up for a more challenging hike, one of Tahune’s 3 walking trails is sure to fit the bill.

It all adds up to an action-packed day in the great outdoors for everyone.

Please note, the path to the AirWalk is uphill and includes 112 steps with places to sit and take photos along the way. It also has a handrail the whole way up the stairs. We do offer disabled access to the start of the AirWalk for those who need it.

The Swinging Bridges Track has a few small hills and two steel cable foot bridges that cross both the Huon and Picton Rivers. This track is a loop circuit and takes roughly an hour to complete.

Our Huon Pine walk showcases the beautiful and rare Huon Pine tree and is a short 20 minute walk across flat ground and boardwalks.

For the adventurous ones we have the Eagle Hang Glider which is a 250 metre cable glide over the Huon River. You reach a maximum height of 50 metres and speeds of up to 40km/ph.
